Leathernecks ranked for fifth consecutive week, this time at No. 22
October 9, 2007 on 9:20 pm | In Athletics |MACOMB, Ill. - Western Illinois University remained in the Football Championship Subdivision top-25 polls for the fifth consecutive week, this time coming in at No. 22 in The Sports Network media poll and No. 23 in the Coaches’ Poll.
For an unprecedented fifth-straight week, five Gateway teams are ranked. In the Sports Network poll, UNI is ranked No. 2, trailing top-ranked Montana by only nine points. The Panthers are joined in the top 10 in that poll by Southern Illinois (7) and Youngstown State (10). Illinois State is ranked just below the Leathernecks at No. 23.
Western Illinois (3-2) visits unranked Indiana State (0-5) this Saturday at 11 a.m. (CDT).
