Wisner named Summit League Offensive Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill.- Western Illinois junior forward Katelyn Wisner has been named Summit League Offensive Player of the Week after helping the Westerwinds to consecutive 3-0 victories this past week.

Wisner (Lenexa, Kan./Olathe East) had three goals on only seven shots with one goal coming Friday, Sept. 28, against Southern Utah and the other two coming Sunday, Sept. 30, against IPFW.

Entering the week, Wisner had just one goal and with her six points last week she now has eight on the season. Her four goals on the season has her tied fourth in the Summit League.

Also nominated were Brittany O’Neal, Centenary; Abbey Stratton, North Dakota State; Shakira Duncan, Oral Roberts.

Previous honorees include Robyn Ruypers, Western Illinois; Kellyn Farrell, SDSU; Michelle Martinez, NDSU; Sheri Levack, IUPUI.

Wisner and the Westerwinds return to action Sunday, Oct. 7 when they travel to Springfield, Mo., to play Missouri State.
