Spring Football Report #3

MACOMB, Ill. - The Leathernecks donned full pads Wednesday for the first time this spring, practicing in the first decent-weather day of spring ball as temperatures reached near 60 degrees.

“It didn’t look like anyone forgot how to hit during the off-season,” said head coach Don Patterson as he addressed the team after workout number three. “A lot of times players will get distracted and lose what they learned mentally in the first two workouts, but the guys are intent on what they’re doing out here, they’re motivated, and we’ve seen three really good practices. We plan on keeping that string alive on Friday.”

On Saturday, the first full week of spring practice will conclude with a morning scrimmage, scheduled for 10 a.m. Rain later in the week, however, could push the scrimmage back to 1 p.m.

Senior Q&A
A different senior will be featured after each practice this spring. Paul Anderson (Alton, Ill.) has lettered at wide receiver all three years as a Leatherneck, earning five starts last season.
